First things first, I had to work overtime at work because of extended lab hours for finals. Around 8pm I got a little bored, so I decided to make some scratch board. I was looking at pictures of rock climbers. One of the climbers was hanging in the best pose, he looked like Atlas changing his weight. So I scratched it out of my newly made scratch board.
Update #1 Here is my pretty finished self portrait. The eyes need to be worked and the lips need fleshing out, but over all I think it's a success.
Update #2 I am so behind on my triptych, but I'm still trudging along. I have until Tuesday to finish it and I think I can easily make that deadline.

Self Portrait - WIP (got a little more done) and Two Sketches
These two sketches are for a Triptych assignment for Digital Painting. My theme is the Trickster archetype, based in native american cultures. To make it work I have to make the different patterns seem to flow seamlessly. The sketches are testing out patterns and positions. I think I have my final patterns down but I'm not sure which composition is stronger, so you masses out there help a girl out. Maybe even keeping the coyote on the right and just flipping it and the rabbit.
This self portrait is taking forever, but it's probably because I put it on the back burner to get other assignments done. I think it's progressing nicely, and will look pretty cool when finished. After I finish the painting I have to put on a texture in some area to complete the assignment, I'll probably put a paper texture on the ochre.
Over and out Space Cadets!

Freelancing - Assignment COMPLETED!
This is something I made for class. We had to do an entrepreneurial project so I decided to use an idea I had already started designing and making two summers ago. It has evolved of course, but here he is. MANABAT the cute little vamp. I'm also making a monkey, an owl, and a rabbit for this series. My last series was all cats which i will eventually post. So enjoy. I will be posting MANABAT for sale on etsy soon.

Self Portrait - WIP
Yay for my never ending supply of unfinished Digital Painting assignments. I keep trying to post my lasted finish but the internet hates it so it wont. Anyway.. We're starting on self-portraits. They don't have to be typical straight self-portraits sooo i'm green/blue and kinda furry, though I'm working on smoothing it out without losing texture. Here's the work so far, and the picture it's based off of.

Class Work
Digital Painting 1st Assignment. Drawing based off a picture of Zooey Deschanel (because my normal reference model has a boyfriend now and is never home). The assignment is to practice laying in flat color under a line drawing and coloring the line. I couldn't get the color the line thing to work, maybe because of the pencil shading or maybe because it wasn't dark enough, I don't know. So here's to the learning process, cheers! It may look a little yellow on some computers, it's just how they are lit.

Hag Number Two: The Nanny
Typically found in Britain the Nanny is of the foulest class of monsters. Believed to be evolved from ogres, Nanny inhabit our world to terrorize small children. Their tea, bread, and butter are the screams and wails of children who have had their ears boxed with tremendous force and are not forced to sit in time out for 12 years. There is nothing you can do, once a Nanny infiltrates you house your parents are helpless to save you because they are under the Nanny's spell. Not all Nannies are evil but 9 times out of 10 in an ogre.

Monster Recently Discovered
Never before seen Wide Mouthed Cave Monster is truly a master of deception. He lives in damp caves and his skin blends well with the rocky interior. When you find him in a cave be prepared, while he looks like an obese squatting troglodyte with no face, he is really poised for the attack. If you are not prepared, he will unfortunately for you gobble you up with his strong jaws that you have mistaken for rolls of fat on his belly.
Two New Monsters
The first new monster is your common hag. She likes to eat children and suckle the marrow from their bones, and this particular hag is a nasty one. She hates to hear the screams and shrieks of children so she sews their mouths shut and cuts off their eye lids so that they can watch in horror as she delights in their delectable fingers and toes.
Next we have the strange creature known to us as the Seartle because of is odd resemblance to an elephant seal and a turtle. It came from another planet on an astroid that landed in South America near the coast of Peru. It is said that when angered the Seartle with sink cruise ships, because it sees them as potential threats. Not for the inexperienced owner.
